Some call me visionary, others crazy. The truth may be in the middle. I like a good conversation and to welcome people and show them the best that my country has to offer.
image Born in a peasant family, I develop the taste for the beauty and harness of the land. Although, in recent years, I lived among the equations, I feel the need to return to my origins.
Today, sick of big cities, I follow an alternative model living in closer harmony with nature and open spaces.
A house is an extension and a mirror of the self. I’ve planned and executed the Casa do Colipo to be just that: an open space with eclectic taste full of light and harmony that I gladly share with all of you.
Be very welcome!

History of the Roman City of Colipo

Plinius in his "Naturalis Historia" refers to the city of Colipo between cities of Lusitania, south of Aeminium (Aveiro) and Conimbriga (Coimbra).

The Roman colonization built several "villages", centers or residential homes for manors in the region. Within these urban centers, was the Colipo center, one of major military and administrative importance due to the rich agricultural region and the seaport in a region now called Paredes.

According to the excavations the more consensual view is that the city of Colipo stood in the current Quinta de S. Sebastião do Freixo, 8 km south of Leiria, in the current Andreus, 500 m from Casal do Alho. At the top of the elevation from digging holes for semi-abandoned, stands the geodesic mark of 243 m altitude.

Several excavations were conducted in the area. They discover some traces of ceramic, sigilata, building materials, some Roman coins and statues, the most notable being that of a Roman senator, which is temporarily on display at the City Hall of Batalha.
